YVAN DUTIL
Dr. Yvan Dutil is a Canadian astrophysicist who, together with his colleague Stephane Dumas, creates the Interstellar Rosetta Stone included in the Cosmic Calls. He also provides advice into the selection of target stars for the interstellar transmissions.
Dr. Dutil has worked at the Space Telescope Science Institute, with the Canadian government, the Universitat Polytecnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain. He has worked for ABB in Quebec City on the development of remote sensing instrument for ground and space applications.
He is widely-published, especially in the French Canadian press. His printed works have appeared in everything from astronomy magazines to academic journals, including books chapters. He has appeared in numerous television and radio programs where he has discussed his work in creating interstellar messages for extraterrestrials, as well as the effect of city lights on the night time sky and other topic related to astronomy.
He is member of International Astronomical Union, Commission 51 (Bioastronomy), the Association Canadienne Francaise pour le Savoir (ACFAS) and the Canadian Astronomical Society/Societe Canadienne d'Astronomie. He is also an associated member of the Meteorite and Impact consulting committee of the Canadian Space Agency, and an adjunct member of the Mont Megantic Observatory Research Centre. He is also member of the IAA SETI Permanent Study Group.

Dr. Yvan Dutil est un physicien canadien qui, avec son collègue Stéphane Dumas, a créé ce qui est maintenant appellé Interstellar Rosetta Stone qui est inclut dans les Cosmic Calls. Il a également aidé au choix des cibles pour la transmission des messages.
Dr. Dutil a travaillé au Space Telescope Science Institute (pour le gouvernement canadien). Il a travaillé pour la compagnie ABB, à Québec, dans le développement d'appereils de télédétection (au sol et dans l'espace).
Il publié beaucoup, surtout dans la presse canadienne française. On retrouve ses articles autant dans les revues populaires d'astronomie que dans les journaux académiques en passant par les livres. Il a fait quelques apparitions dans des émissions à la radio ainsi qu'à la TV, autant pour discuter des messages aux extraterrestres que pour discuter de différentes sujets touchant l'astronomie.
Il est membre de l'Union International d'Astronomie, de la commission 51 (bioastronomie), de l'association canadienne française pour le savoir (ACFAS) et de la Canadian Astronomical Society/Societe Canadienne d'Astronomie (CASCA). Il est aussi un membre adjoint du centre de recherche de l'observatoire du Mt. Mégantic et un membre du IAA SETI Permanent Study Group.
Stephane Dumas is a physicist working for the Canadian government. But during it free time, he is doing a lot of work related to astronomy and SETI (completely unrelated to his day job). He is the president of the Quebec Center of the Royal astronomical society of Canada (RASC), a member of the society of amateur radio astronomer (SARA), a member of SETI Team, of the planetary society and of the Canadian astronomical society/societe Canadienne d'astronomie (CASCA). He is also the SETI League coordinator for east Canada.
He is also involved in several activities of public outreach for astronomy and science.

Stéphane Dumas est un physicien qui travaille pour le gouvernement canadien. Mais dans ses temps libres, il est impliqué dans plusieurs projets liés à l'astronomie et à SETI (totalement sans relation avec son travaille). Il est président du centre de Québec de la société royale d'astronomie du Canada (RASC), un membre de la society of amateur radio astronomer (SARA), un membre associé du SETI Team, un membre de la Canadian astronomical society/société Canadienne d'astronomie (CASCA) ainsi que de la planetary society. Il est également le coordonateur pour l'est du Canada de SETI League.
Il est également impliqué dans plusieurs activites de promotion de l'astronomie et de vulgarisation de la science.
